Job description
Journalist (Mildura)
Sunraysia Daily is seeking a journalist to join the team in the beautiful riverside city of Mildura in north-west Victoria. This is an opportunity to work on a busy and innovative newspaper in one of Australia’s fastest growing regional areas.
Sunraysia Daily is published four times a week as well as breaking news online around the clock. We are an independently owned newspaper that’s been the voice of the Sunraysia community for more than 100 years.
We are looking for a versatile journalist who can generate quality stories on a diverse range of topics while practicing the highest standards of journalism. You might be a graduate, cadet, have a few years’ experience under your belt. We’re welcoming applications from all. This is a fulltime position and includes rostered shifts on weekends and public holidays on rotation. The wage is based on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. Editorial staff are employed under a workplace agreement with a base salary well above the minimum award.
To apply, send a cover letter, CV and two examples of your work (one hard, the other a little softer) to the editor, Alistair Finlay, by email to afinlay@sunraysiadaily.com.au.
Closing date is 5pm Saturday May 31, although we’ll be conducting interviews before then, so don’t delay!
