Job description

As a Video Producer, you will work with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to conceptualise and produce news and current affairs video content for our audiences. Your key responsibilities include: 
  • Propose topics and conceptualise creative ideas for news and current affairs video content with reference to data analytics to optimise audience engagement
  • Execute the production of news videos, medium and long-form feature videos, documentaries; job functions include pre-production research and site recces, sourcing of profiles and personalities, pre-interviews, overseeing location shoots, conducting on camera interviews, scripting, line-producing, overseeing video editing and other post-production processes.
  • Understand audience engagement strategies on Youtube and other social media platforms; use data analytics to optimise audience engagement
  • Manage workflow, processes and communication channels with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the final product meets expectations which includes visual and audio quality, graphics, special effects, insertion of mandatory texts and logos etc
  • Coordinate and manage external vendors, if any, for commissioned projects
Requirements 
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in journalism and / or film / video production, as well as project management; candidates with more experience could be considered for a more senior role 
  • Have a good understanding of scripting, pre-production, filming & post-production; familiarity with set-up and operation of equipment would be advantageous 
  • Proficient in Chinese and English, both written and spoken, as this role supports a Chinese publication
  • Passionate about news and current affairs
  • Basic or intermediate videography and video editing skills a plus
  • Analytical, problem-solver, able to work under tight timelines, both independently and as a team player
  • Able to work shifts when required, including nights, weekends, public holidays
  • Experience with producing live programmes would be advantageous
